3.5 stars. This was a very sweet retelling of You've Got Mail. Fun characters, well-written friendships, and a rare example of good relationships with parents. Not as compelling as some, but about where I rate most contemporaries (or a little better).

It's probably a 3.5. The story was a fun YA version of You've Got Mail and managed to combine my love of Northern California beach towns and movies, but the writing wasn't my favorite. It's just hard for me to get on board with characters who are otherwise intelligent, but act stupid for plot purposes. And Davy's characterization was particularly bad. I mostly enjoyed it though. It was a fun, quick read.

The fact that I read a teen romcom recommended by TikTok..... :( it's a testament to how much I don't want to do my finals work :) This was pretty ridiculous...you do have to suspend your disbelief and the last line of the book was SO bad, seriously who allowed that...BUT with low expectations, it can be a fun read?
