Joe Harvard provides a thorough and fascinating look back at the groundbreaking and highly influential rock album The Velvet Underground and Nico. While I found this book to be a bit of a slow read and definitely one best read in small chunks rather than in one sitting, I think Harvard did a fantastic job of providing not only the history and context of such a transformative record, but also the different nuances that make it so spectacular. This book gave me a deeper appreciation for many of the songs on this album and I think it would do the same for anyone else who enjoys this record.

Excellent background on the times and circumstances surrounding VU. What a story and what a bunch of characters. The record has held up.

More like 2.5, for me personally. I'll explain in my wrap up.
