I received this book as an Arc. I really loved this book. The twist were great. I wasnโt expecting how things were turning out which I loved. It doesnโt always have to be a happy book. I canโt wait to see what happens.

Hello my fellow #bookdragons! My second review of the year is a fast paced, heart felt fantasy! I really enjoyed this one, itโs very well written and the characters are extremely likable, that being said, I did feel that some parts were a little lacking in the story, it glossed over quite a bit, and felt rushed because of this. But I understand that not everyone wants to write a tome, a la Sarah J Maas lol, and I donโt think it took away from the story at all. If you love fantasy, romance, and nice endings tied with a bow, this is for you!ย

Never really got off the ground. I kept waiting and waiting for it to find its stride, but it just never got there. Also, very little description of literally anything going on.

Clara has a dream : land the lead in the high school musical, Grease. As her dream comes true, she meets the handsome Sam, and falls in love. But Clara isnโt like other teenagers. She is a witch. And according to witchโs laws, she is supposed to marry a guy she has never met in a few weeks. Defying the councilโs authority, Clara and Sam escape, without imagining the terrible consequences and punishment that will follow.
It is the second book of the Unstable Magic series that I read, and I was not disappointed. Emily Bybee has an incredible talent to create extraordinary characters evolving in a world where humans and witches coexist. Even if all the books can be read individually, each of them focusing on a different character, they all form together a perfect coherence, moving forward in the Unstable Magic universe and story.ย
Clara and Samโs story is sad and dramatic, a reflection of the dark and heartless laws of the witchโs world . But is also full of hope, as the revolt rumbles and the resistance sets up among the witches. I am really curious to know what will come next. But one thing is certain : I am in love with Emilyโs characters.

When Clara has to run away to save Sam and her family, Sam goes with her. Once they're found out, Clara is taken by the witches council and used to do their bidding.
15 years later and Clara is woken up from the fog of being the councils assassin. To atone, she tries to save a child from the council and hopefully help the love her life remember her.
I really did love Sam and Clara's love story. I like the idea of a reluctant heroine trying to do the right thing to save those she loves. Even if she has to put a little acting into it. ๐

As soon as I read the synopsis I knew I wanted to read this book. Magic and Forbidden Love?! Sign me up! It did give me some twists I wasn't expecting, and I definitely wasn't expecting the time jump. But I had fun with it! I found it to be a little rough in the changing period from the past to present. Other then that, it was engaging!ย

Clara and Sam were both really fun characters to follow, both as teenagers and adults. You are in for ride with everything life throws at them. I was rooting for them from the start! Levi was such a kind character, I wish we could have got to know him more.

I didn't realize this going into the book, but thus is book 5 of a series. It can definitely be read as a standalone, but I feel I was missing out on some things that I would have had answers to if I read from book one. I'm definitely going to go into Emily's back catalog and read the first few books. This was a quick and fun read!ย

Escape from Magic by @emilybybeebooks was a delightful read. I really enjoyed Droplets of Magic, so I was extremely excited to pick this book up.ย
I loved Claraโs story from start to finish. The bookโs nonlinear time line worked fantastically. The side characters were wonderful. I adored Levi and Claraโs banter.ย

ย I can't say I enjoyed this one as much as Droplets of Magic but I did still enjoy it. The writing makes it so easy to read. It was nice to see some back story behind one of the characters we met in the last book. And to see this other POV of this story. Thanks to @KatieandBreyPA for this opportunity.ย
