Soooooo. Wasn’t my favorite. I just felt disconnected to the characters. Like I cared about the revenge aspect but not so much the romance. I don’t know if maybe just the kink wasn’t my thing or if it was the constant need of the author to tell me how much they compliment each other. I’d rather see it then read chapter after chapter of the author trying to convince me. Also it got really repetitive towards the end, we get it, she’s broken and has issues but how much of her inner monologue do we need of the same problem. I would rather the author focus on making the revenge plot better and more satifying then half-doing it at 70% of the book. Also after a while the smut was getting repetitive with the fingering. It was kinda boring when the author gave up trying to make the pain link innovative. After the gun scene, the smut got underwhelming. But other than that, the book was pretty good but after 85% it was hard to get through and I just wanted it to end. And we didn’t need the epilogue it was so uneventful and again repetitive. And the scene at the ocean was not needed either. And I would have rather a epilogue of her life in hell rather than what we were given. Plus what the heck was the chapters with Everly for if she wasn’t even going to be really useful in the book. That pissed me off too. But yeah 3 stars. It was ALRIGHTTTT.

This book, this book, this book.

I can't get it out of my head and I DON'T WANT TO.

I didn't think Harley could do this to me TWICE but they have and I'm sure they will continue to. I loved the first book in this series so much, I even put off reading this one because it's not the same couple and I realise that I was so very wrong to do so.

This book is fantastic, it's wonderful, the spice is so damn good and I want to watch Juni and Zane forever! Are they unhinged? Absolutely. Would I change that? Not in the slightest. These two have my heart forever and always, what a beautiful mess.

There is something about murderers being in love that is.. unexplainably hot and it shows.

I loved seeing Juni come out of her shell throughout the book even if only to Zane. I think he is the perfect partner for her. I love seeing a woman so strong and eager to survive that she will do anything without remorse. Juni really does deserve the world and Zane is exactly the right person to give it to her.

The spicy scenes were absolutely top tier in this book for me, I loved every single one. Their chemistry is truly unmatched. Also Harley how dare you tease me with the thought of a maid outfit, shame on you!! (ily)

I also really enjoyed seeing more about the demon side of things, their culture and how they get along in the human world.

Ultimately another absolutely wonderful book from an author I adore. I cannot wait for the third book in this series.

p.s read the trigger warnings!

"You thought you threw a lamb down into the dark. You didn't. You threw down a wolf, and I came back biting."
Who knew demons were so hot. This is a story of revenge, and a demon who empowers the woman who seeks it. The balance between an amazing story line and a great spice is something that is done impeccably well in this trilogy. The story line was thrilling, the FMC was a bad *ss, and the town vibes is perfect for spooky season. I will recommend this trilogy for dark romance lovers around spooky season every year, because it is spot on. The audiobook was also amazing.

I really wanted to love this one just as much as the first. I was disappointed that they followed the same time line because at times I felt myself skimming the story to get through the book. I did really enjoy closer to the end of the book as you were reading about new events. Zane and Juni are a couple I do think I will think about however Leon and Rae are a couple I haven’t been able to get out of my mind. Couldn’t help compare this to the first one and to me just didn’t have that 5 star feel.

i enjoyed this book a lot and was especially intrigued by both the fmc and the mmc. i fell for zane in "her soul to take" so it was obvious that i was going to read his book as well. i really liked reading about him and juniper and was amazed by the development of their relationship throughout the book. i wouldn't have thought zane to be such a softie when it comes to a woman but he was absolutely not shy of showing what he wants and how much he adores juniper and it was clear as hell from the beginning that he was totally in love with her. i also loved juniper a lot - she is such a badass strong protagonist and has all my respect for having endured so much and still not giving up on life and love. i felt her struggling with her feelings for zane and loved when she finally gave in to them. it was an amazing book that gave more insights into the tale that happened in abelaum years ago and showed juniper's perspective on all of it while also explaining more about the things happening during the first book. i also very much enjoyed the spice, which was exquisite once again. the only thing that annoyed me quite a bit were some repeating elements both from the first book of the series and when the events of one chapter in e.g. zane's perspective where then explored again in the next chapter in juniper's perspective, but that's really just my personal distaste here and nothing that would make you not enjoy the book.

ZANE AND JUNI SUPREMACY

These two are unhinged and I am utterly obsessed with them. Harley is such a master at dark romance, I’m kicking myself for not trying her books sooner! Incredible. Juniper’s journey of healing was beautifully done, and I especially loved how Zane embraced her darkness.

Also the smut?? Damn. These two are k!nkÿ af
