Well dang that was really short. I loved the story line. It was a very good origin story for Black Canary and I Ike the setting she is placed in so that she can appeal to a younger audience. This graphic novel has all the great elements of a novel but ease of reading a comic book. The illustrator did a wonderful job and the colors are so catchy I could not put it down.

I know next to nothing about Black Canary other then what little I know from The CW. I still was able to enjoy this thought. Good read.

I’m not the audience for this book, but it was a Meg Cabot story, so I gave it a try. I don’t like Dinah, but the story was quick and fun, so yeah!

This was so unapologetically LAME. Instead of using existing characters in Dinah's age group, they give her two new "best" friends - a volatile girl who yells at her all the time and a walking dishrag. Dinah's dad is a Jim Gordon expy, and her principal is a cartoon of a cartoon. The only redeeming factors are Dinah's cool mom and Ted Grant and once in a while, very occasionally, Dinah herself. I usually love these takes on comic book characters, but this one was a dud.

For what it was, it was an adorable little read! The characters were cute, there was a nice cameo of another hero, and you really got to see some of Dinah's struggles as she came into her own with her powers and who she wanted to be. Definitely a delightful and very happy little read. The art style was adorable.

This was fun. I felt like it moved too quickly and didn’t allow for any room to breathe or really feel fully set up? It just all moved very fast. Still enjoyed it though!
