Has got to be one of my favorites this year so far. My first James Baldwin book. I need more.

So so good. Definitely my favorite thing that I’ve read of his. Such a story story, a true love story. I’m sad. Talked through the ending w Anke and we had such different interpretations lol. I’m pretty sure I’m right   Fist five star of the year 🤩hopefully not the last

I never understood an idea I had read about, that ideas about race affect time and space. This is the second book I have read by Baldwin and very different from what I remember about Another Country. Maybe it's because I didn't realize this was written much later, but I had a hard time determining whether the book was set in the 1920s or the 1960s until the air travel.

I think this would make a great film; I would love to see the details, the quotidian parts of the story as well as the travel abroad
