Should probably be called Lies My Text Books Told Me since many teachers are made to teach and not teach certain things (hello CRT) and shouldn't necessarily be blamed. Especially when he focused most on different text books and publishers.
I also wish more had been discussed about the Tulsa Race Massacre. He called the area that was attacked a ghetto but the Greenwood district was an affluent black community, sometimes referred to as Black Wall Street because of it. I'm assuming this slight was because of the dated information about the massacre but I hope if the author does another update he fixes this mistake.

Enjoyed learning about the way our history texts have influenced what we teach and how. Often history is still taught as memorization of facts rather than an opportunity to reflect on how our nation has changed and why.

This book took a look at several current history textbooks that are used in schools to prove his point that authors are biased to the white American way ... and explains what other historians have to say about the events of history. If you're interested in history -- I recommend this one!

This book was so refreshing to read. It’s such a relief to know that there are people working to make sure people know the truth about history. Plus, the narrative voice is entertaining and interesting, which makes it enjoyable to read!

This book really helped me understand why I wanted to be an educator and on reading 5, why I wanted to be a school librarian.

I enjoyed reading about some of the discrepancies between the real history and what is put into history books. I also already know that parents get all up in arms about content that is controversial in anyway and that does not help with high schoolers grow with a realistic idea of how life was and how it affects life now.

This edition is an older one so I can imagine there is more in the updated/current edition.

I definitely think that everyone needs to read this and make those changes to what we teach in schools.
