a super fun middle grade read that gives you lots to think about, with lots of twists and excitement. i love the multiple narrators and think it's super interesting to see how they perceive different actions and events, but can see how this repetition could be annoying or frustrating to some readers.

Fun and enjoyable to read- loved seeing all the characters from the first book grow and develop further. Wendy Mass does a great job exploring concepts of love, trust, friendship, loyalty, and right vs. wrong. Plot-wise, it may not have been as seamless of a novel as the first book in the series, but it still does a pretty good job of telling a story and coming full circle.

This book, the second book in the candy maker series, was better than the first. It follows the same format as the last; one mini book per person and then an omniscient book to tie the story together.
Many mysteries are created when Logan and Hebert realize that something is wrong with the Harmonicandy. Mysteries mean Daisy, and we got an extensive view of her life (especially when the omniscient part of the book comes in). Everything was tied together nicely in the end, leaving me satisfied. Daisy is my favorite character!

The company Harmonicandy was chosen as the winner of the nationwide candy making contest. As soon as Logan, Miles, Philip, and Daisy have returned to their everyday lives, they find out that they have a chance to promote the candy and the company and go on tour. They each jump at the chance for different reasons, but not before a very old secret is revealed.

This book was a lot of silly fun. I love the characters, and the fact that some of the characters from Wendy Mass's other books appear. Covering each character separately does result in some redundancy and makes it a large volume, though.

I read the first book in this series last summer (I think ... no guarantees ;) ) And loved it! That story was awesome with the points of view.
This one? I didn't like it quite as much. The first third or so of the book was a few important days from the perspectives of the four kids. The rest of it was combined perspective. That ... messed me up a bit. I don't know why, but I've never really been into the whole omnipotent perspective, so this kind of annoyed me.
I did enjoy the plot though, and loved seeing the characters again. They were just as strong and as amazing in the last book!

I reread The Candymakers a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it, so I wanted to finally pick this one up too because I have had it since it came out. While it was still fun, and I had a good time following the characters from the first book, I felt like a lot of the information just wasn't necessary to the story! It made me become a bit bored for the first half of the book or so, and I struggled to get through chunks of it. I missed the candy factory setting, but the little plot twist on the friends' journey was very interesting to me! Overall, this one wasn't my favorite, but I am glad that I picked it up and could finish the little duet.
