I still love the world that Ewing created all the same in this sequel, but I found the developments slow. That being said, it somehow didn't make it any less of a page-turner as the reader is greedily eager to discover the conclusion. I still definitely recommend this duology.

2.5. Better than the first one, but there’s a lot going on without anything going on.

That was nice! I enjoyed the magic and the worldbuilding a lot. The ending tied up a little too neatly for my tastes but still, it was nice.

I just finished this book (and this duology) and ... I'm amazed!I read it in less than two days, this second volume had I read it in less than two days, This second volume had a lot of suspense and more action than the first. The different points of view were well connected and the changes from one place to another added even more tension to the story.

A real favourite!

The only downside is that the ending lacks a real epilogue, which is something I generally appreciate, and this time more than the others. Because I would have liked to know more about the fate of each of these characters.
