A book that suffers from confusing tense changes and underediting, it really is a shame that it wasn’t better.
The premise seems so good, so captivating. And it is… in the last third of the book, which is far too late to deliver.
The writing gets choppy at times but is beautiful in others. Really it’s inconsistent in mystery, in attention grabbing, and in how much I want to keep reading or put it down.
I wish I’d liked it. I love books with mystery and family at their core. I wish I’d loved this book. But I didn’t.
