As a fan of the marvel movies, I wanted to try to read some of the comic. Since the Scarlet Witch is one of my favorite characters and also has a complicated backstory, I started at this comic series. And it didn’t disappoint. I couldn’t stop reading and always wanted to know more and the end especially left me in shock.

Recently I’ve fallen prey for reading all the Scarlet Witch content I can find. To start I set myself into reading the Avengers: Disassembled - House of M - Children’s Crusade - Avengers VS X-Men (AvsX) - Scarlet Witch 2015(?) series.
I think that House of M is an icon for a reason. It presents Wanda’s power as a wild and uncontainable force to be feared or worshiped and the threat it poses upon the Marvel universe.
That said, I believe that Wanda often falls under the stereotype of powerful woman goes mad with her own power because she was overcome with her emotions, and the biggest, most modern, offenders of this crime are Avengers Disassembled and House of M.
The 4 stars are for the big event that this comic stands for and the Scarlet Witch OP goddess content, but it can’t be overlooked that Wanda’s agency is virtually nonexistent.
Ever since Disassembled she’s not fully plotting or scheming, her magic is overcoming her, almost overriding her better judgement. In House of M it turns out she didn’t mean to harm anyone, but just followed Pietro’s wishes and manipulations. This is why I can’t give it a perfect score, Wanda’s character wouldn’t start to somewhat evolve in AvsX and fully develop a full fledged personality and drive until her solo series.
Undoubtably a must read for Marvel and Scarlet Witch fans.

Not as fun as my reread of Avengers Disassembled. I would’ve liked to have seen more Wanda and more of a resolution but I think there are more issues in this run so I’ll have to find those and read them.
