I love a good witchy book and struggle to find a good one, I have read many that I have put into my top ten books, however I found this book just ok, which is such a shame as I was so excited to read it.... it starts off really well with a great story to follow, Helen leaves America after making a crazy purchase which takes her to Scotland.... the house, the library, the wolf, a love story and the magic.... then I would say about a 100 pages from the end it turns into some crazy fantasy book, the last couple of chapters just do match the rest of the book.
The illustrations in this book are absolutely beautiful!

Started out great, but kinda fizzled out as it went along. I enjoyed it well enough, but not a favorite

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I was looking for another witchy novel & found this one to be a little more slow paced and emotional than some others, but still a really compelling plot!

The Forgotten Witch read like it was written, edited, and published within a week. I really struggled with getting through this entire book and If I could give this negative stars, I would.
From what I understand this was this author's debut novel and this book desperately needed an editor, or at least a better one. It was entirely too long and the plot was so dry that I found it almost undetectable within the writing. I also think the book would have benefited from a sensitivity reader so that someone could tell the author that an evil witch should not be used as a reason for real-world mass genocide.
