Something something organized religion and particularly evangelism breeds deadly fanaticism and it’s bad and horrific and bad. The historical story is important and needs to be told but overall the book could have been done differently, maybe more tastefully? Maybe just a little shorter? Maybe with more magic and hope and female agency? Something like that. I’m not mad I read it but it was disappointing for sure.
