Jiffy Kate are a new to me authors and I was not disappointed.

Eventually everyone comes back to the Blue Bayou.

Maverick Kensington needs a break from his life when he stumbles upon a small historic hotel and its gorgeous owner. Carys Matthews is stunned when this man walks into her hotel, even more stunned with much this man is willing to help her.

Carys is such a loveable character. She is so down to earth and real. It is so easy to connect with her. She works hard at keeping the hotel running in memory of her family. Mav, well what else can you say about him? I was crushing on him from the very beginning.

The secondary characters in this story are also fantastic, which I find rare for a lot of stories. George and Mary are sweet and really like parental figures for Carys, CeCe and Shep are great friends and Jules may be my favorite, I mean, how can you not want to be his best friend and hang out with him?! Some of the things he said would have my dying of laughter.

This story is sweet, it is steamy, and it will make you laugh. I can’t wait to read more from Jiffy Kate in the future.

Another Jiffy Kate book full of southern roots - I adore the characters they write, they are flawed, yet kind and well-rounded. The stand out character to me in this book wasn't even the main characters - it was Jules, the part time Blue Bayou employee! He stole this book for me! I need a Jules in my life!

Maverick and Carys are strangers who had an immediate connection - he's running from the life he's been forced to live and she's running herself ragged with the hotel she inherited. It's a beautiful story of chance meetings, homemade macrons, and allowing yourself to be open to love - just in case it walks in the door.

Was my first book by Jiffy Kate, loved the in depth history about New Orleans, who doesn't love New Orleans lol. This won't be my book I read from these authors, had a hard time putting it down, loved the main characters and even the background characters.

“Eventually, everyone comes back to the Blue Bayou”. The question is why would anyone ever want to leave?

Once again I have picked up a book by Jiffy Kate and once again I have fallen in love with their New Orleans. The way these two talented women write their stories and dream up these characters is what romance is all about.

Maverick is looking to escape when he literally trips into the door way of a quaint, if not slightly outdated hotel in the French Quarter. What he finds is a life he could see living and a “beautiful hot mess” to live that life with.

Carys is drowning in responsibility and fear of failure when her whole perspective is changed by the encouragement of a virtual stranger that makes her feel more than she should.

Go grab this book, fall in love with Jiffy Kate, fall in love with their characters, fall in love with their storytelling and get ready to fall in love with New Orleans as well, because the city is as much a part of this story as Mav and Mess are!

I have been to New Orleans and this Blue Bayou captured it so well. All of your senses tingle with the sights, sounds and smells of NOLA!

Carys is a hot mess, but you will adore her! Maverick is swoony and the way he is with Carys will make you melt!

The supporting cast of characters is amazing too! Please JK give us more of some of them! Jules was fun!

A sweet yet steamy love story and so much more! Definitely left me wanting more!! Hope some future JK books will let us "come again" to New Orleans!!

There is a third act miscommunication trope which I'm not a fan of. But I do appreciate that the man doesn't save the day.  Instead the heroine takes responsibility for her own life problems.

BLUE BAYOU is the first book in the "French Quarter Collection" and I will be reading the rest of the series in the future.

The book is set in a small part of New Orleans so it has a small town feel about it even though (I think) New Orleans is a big city.  It has all of the classic romance elements and was a quick read.  I did find myself skimming a little bit over the more super detailed parts - that's on me and not the author.

This was a great quick read! Every time I read a Jiffy Kate book I think to myself why has it taken me so long to read this! This book captures my attention from the very beginning. I loved Maverick and Carys. I also loved that there was no drawn out unnecessary drama. I would absolutely recommend this book!

Ok story- but something I kept thinking I’ve read it before. Only because it’s that unoriginal.
