Not the smoothest reading experience. My reading flow was interrupted by what I thought was awkward writing and I didn't really get too into the couple. There were some funny parts and I loved the description of the place the main character lived.

I thought I reviewed this a while back. Like the Bonobo running joke stuck with me for quite a few years now. I think this may've been the book that tipped me off to the goodreads MM romance group. I think the sex scenes in this book were disappointing. but running jokes reminded me of Arrested Development's running joke thingies. Although "Arrested Development" running jokes and story telling are more complex/developed. The author closed all knots up. so I don't think a sequel can exist, cuz the characters are resolved.

I enjoy the strong sense of place in Rick Bettencourt's work. I am only vaguely familiar with some of the places he describes, but it seems that if I were to visit those towns/lakes/highways, they would be as described.

Evan and Dillon both have secrets, whose is more egregious? They both feel hurt that the other wasn't honest. The use of billboards and racy ads for New England Beef was fun.

2.5 stars. I rounded up on the other site, bc it made me laugh out loud a couple of times. It had some very awkwardly funny situations with this nerd turned hunk first person protag, but the conflict was kind of meh.

Lost me halfway through, but I liked the awkward interactions of the main characters.

Sweet m/m romance, with no particular angst/conflict and mostly 'fade to black' sex scenes. For those that like 'sweet' and not steamy, with an everyday boy meets everyday boy at work and they get together, with the odd awkward/humorous moment, such as not realising you have dried .... on your face from the night before when you go out to breakfast, this will probably work. Didn't for me.
