After reading this love story, I feel that the book is written well for the lighter side of Regency drama. The characters I think are sweet and a joy to read. The book has realism to it, this works well with reading the book at a fast pace. On side note, the plot could have a little more excitement to it. Add some intense moments here or there. Perhaps some mystery or suspense.

I enjoyed How to Train Your Earl! This is my first book by Amelia Grey and it won't be my last.

Brina Field is one of our main characters in this book and when she becomes the focus of the ton because of what our other main character, the Earl of Blacknight did, she decides she won't make things easy for him. See, he made a bet (in the books) that he would win her hand in marriage by the end of the Season. What he doesn't know is that after losing her husband in an accident, Brina has no interest in marriage again.

As Zane tries to win Brina over, she challenges him and pushes him to become more respectable. What she didn't plan on was falling for him and with Zane pushing her to accept his offer, Brina has to decide what she really wants for herself.

Although this was the third book in the series, I don't think I missed anything by diving into it without reading the first two so consider picking this one up when you get a chance. I'll definitely be checking out more by Grey when I can.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the copy in exchange for a review.

This is the 3rd book in the First Comes Love series by Amelia Grey and I really enjoyed it! I have been enjoying this whole series so much and this was a wonderful addition to the series.

In this book we have a young widow, Brina Feld who puts others before herself. She gets talked into going to a ball and letting go of her mourning for one night. She stumbles on a tied up man.. and later finds out that he is Zane the Earl of Blacknight! I love how they met. It was unique and honestly hilarious.

Zane falls for Brina pretty quickly.. most would say it was a bit insta-love-y.. but I liked that. I like that he was the one that fell first. I like that he didn't fight it. I was a little annoyed at how long it took Brina to give up her vow to stay unmarried but overall I really enjoyed their love story.

Thank you to the publisher for my copy of the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Refreshing read on the black sheep of the family getting the Earldom after a nasty accident claimed all of the men in line before him. Zane was completely unorthodox when he places a wager that the much loved Widow Feld would marry him by the end of the season.

What did I like? This was a unique idea that was highly enjoyable. The tête-à-tête between Lord Blacknight and Widow Feld was amusing and amorous. Easily a stand alone because I did not read the first two in this series.

Would I recommend or buy? Anyone loving a regency bodice rippers will love this story. It was also unique and amusing. I would definitely read more by this author! Four stars of entertainment!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!

I have made it my mission to find every rake, rogue and scoundrel there is because good boys have just never been my thing. No offense to the straight and narrow hero. I mean there are a few that have slipped past my obvious bias, but nonetheless a man that goes against the propriety of society is usually the kind of man I want to read about.

Zane, the Earl of Blacknight, is one of those types of men.

I'm bored. While I understand that historical romance should and does follow a formula, there are authors that are able to make the formula and tropes feel fresh. This book reads like I would expect recycled cardboard to taste - dry, bland, and unappetizing. I don't like the characters at all. This is the second time I've tried to read this, as I received an invitation from the publisher for the ARC back in 2021, and I just can't get through it.

This was generally a fun, enjoyable historical romance. There are many others out there like it, and this is the third in a series. I did not read the first two and reading it as a stand-alone wasn’t a problem.
.
I liked the premise of this one despite it being a bit predictable. Brina is a widow and has no plans to remarry. When she accidentally meets the Earl of Blacknight, she’s a bit off her guard. The Earl places a bet about where their “relationship” will go by the end of the Season and she gives him a bunch of rules she’s sure he won’t follow. And that’s what I love - that push and pull, the banter.
.
Overall, a fun enjoyable read. It would be a good low-key book to take on vacation.
.
I’ve voluntarily read this book and the review expresses my own personal opinions. Thanks to @netgalley and @stmartinspress for the opportunity!

**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.””**
The premise of this book sounded so interesting. Initially the characters were great but throughout the story, they lost steam.
I had trouble staying interested in this book and I did not believe the characters chemistry.
The writing was okay but this book was not for me.

This is the first book I read by this author. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the plot and characters, though Zane is a bit annoying. I didn't understand why he made the bet to marry her. It doesn't make sense to me. It was entertaining though.
