3.5 stars, rounded up for originality.

This is an unique book about a girl who steals her way into life as a world traverser, moving between world in the multiverse in some sort of post-apocalyptic situation. I enjoyed the set up and complexity of the world building, but felt a little dragged down in some of the details. I feel like this might make a good series where some of the storylines had a little more time to develop that was possible in one novel. Good read for those looking for some diversity in their sci-fi as well as a Mad Max style world.

Thanks to the publisher for providing an ARC through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

Amazing! Much darker than expected but one of my favorite books I have read this year!

TL;DR: I liked this book. If I could, I'd give it 3.5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and characters, I loved the narrative style; however, the first half of this book was a weird balance of interesting and boring that I've never quite experienced while reading. Maybe it was over-detailed? Maybe there was just always something going on but it felt insignificant? I don't know and need to think about it more. Definitely worth the read though.

I tried to figure out what to say about this book and write this review multiple times. I figured out I do not have a lot to say about this book. I literally have no negative comments on this book. The writing is smooth and percise and approachable. I loved the narrartive style and structure of the chapters. I just liked the story. I enjoyed it. I felt the plot was a continuous roller coaster that seemingly was continuously interesting and not immersive or investive. That's what probably stopped me from loving it. I would read Micaiah's writing again.

I didn't have many expectations when I picked this book up, so I was pleasantly surprised by how well-realized the characters, the setting, and the complicated science all was. A well-paced an interesting read for anyone interested in alternate realities or gay people.
