This was so good! I'm surprised I haven't heard more about it, but considering there are so many mafia romances being published, I guess this one was forgotten at some point.

This was my first from this author-I knew her more for her monsters & muses series, but I was never really interested in it. This one however, I think the new covers are what caught my attention in all honesty.

Needless to say, this was a great dark mafia romance! It had a good plot to spice ratio, which for me is a big deal. I find that lately, there is a lot of spice for the sake of spice--and don't get me wrong, I love high spice when the plot calls for it--but in this case, the spice was strategically placed and fit the storyline perfectly.

The only thing I would have loved to see is maybe some flashback chapters. There were lots of bits and pieces that served as flashback material, but I would've loved to see more! Other than that, it was pretty close to perfect as far as a mafia romance is concerned. I am absolutely reading the other two in the series. I'm most excited for Juliet's story!

Caroline is the most insufferable wench I've ever had the displeasure to read about.

I absolutely loved this book! I’ve read the other books in this series and when given the chance to read this book I jumped! I loved the characters, especially Caroline. Her character was incredible. Elia was the perfect morally grey book boyfriend who was head over heels for the FMC. The storyline was phenomenal and I can’t wait to reread the other two books!

Ngl, i only started this series because I wanted to read the second book but I didn’t want to read it without reading the first (even tho these are interconnected stand-alone stories) because I hate not knowing about the universe.

Anyways, this was okay. It felt like it was dragging while also moving to fast. It wasn’t as flushed out and left you wanting more. Elia falls in love with Caroline so quickly and Caroline is so adamant that she doesn’t feel the same — we get the feeling that she’s just using him for her revenge but it’s not even done well. Like how is she using him? She’s capable of doing everything herself so why is she using him? What’s the point? I’ve read better mafia romances and with that being said, I might still read the second book but who knows.

absolutely loved this!!! only reason i didn’t rate it 5 stars is because i feel like the side characters could have been a teensy bit more developed. i adore caroline and elia, and i’m so happy that they’re happy together even if their relationship was far from conventional at first. my favourite spicy scene from this was the one with the pew pew involved (iykyk).
