absolutely loved this!!! only reason i didn’t rate it 5 stars is because i feel like the side characters could have been a teensy bit more developed. i adore caroline and elia, and i’m so happy that they’re happy together even if their relationship was far from conventional at first. my favourite spicy scene from this was the one with the pew pew involved (iykyk).

This book was okay, but I was struggling to connect with the characters most of the time. Caroline was getting on my nerves with how she went about her revenge.

Also, there is discussion on how they’re gonna get married, which seems like a done deal. Both parties knew what they were getting into.
Yet, after they’re married she doesn’t seem like she wanted it all and seems like she’s trying to get out of the marriage. That SHE agreed to without her parents, so it’s not an arranged marriage.
Also, it was so frustrating that both of the characters were in the last with each other, but when ever they were in the heat of the moment, Caroline was back away and not for good reasons.

I don’t know to me, I just feel very unsatisfied with the overall plot. I felt like I was chasing certain plots that wasn’t the actual plot of the story, if you get what I mean.

I guess my overall summary would be frustrating, and certain scenes not making sense once everything is revealed.

I received an eARC with the new edits and bonus epilogue in return for my honest review. This is first book in the King Trace Antiheroes series.

This was my first mafia romance and oh man did this one deliver. I will forever hold a special place in my heart for Elia for being my first swoony mafia boyfriend.

I didn’t want this story to end and could honestly read another entire book about Elia and Caroline. Caroline and Elia are both strong and watching them try to deny their connection was both funny and frustrating. Their chemistry was on fire and even though it was a marriage of convenience, it was clear to everyone there was something more there.

I loved the character growth with Caroline. Her inner dialogue felt so realistic and I just wanted to reach through the pages and give her a hug with all the trauma she had to overcome. And Elia…wow. He just had me feeling all the things, between his dirty talk and broodiness. Loved how he struggled with understanding his feelings with Caroline; and when he finally came to realize that he loved her, he gave the perfect “touch my wife and die” energy. Ugh my heart…Sav R. Miller did not disappoint with this one.

Recommend if you like alphahole MC, enemies to lovers, mafia, marriage of convenience, morally grey characters. Please make sure to check trigger warnings before reading.
