challenging emotional informative inspiring reflective slow-paced

5.0

This book is an incredible intersectional work carefully crafted to explore all angles of the emotional labor discussion. Despite being a white woman herself, the author makes sure to include as many different perspectives on the issue as possible, from race to class and beyond. With interviews from real people and research from a variety of sources serving as evidence, this book brings together a wealth of information under a distinctly feminist thesis. Though it brings to light the dark reality that those affected by misogyny in our world, it ends on a hopeful note and a call to action to change the way we view labor and strive for equality in emotional and mental burdens.
