After reading Mena's book I know more intimate details about her than I do my best friend, yet simultaneously I learned nothing about who she is at all.
It was basically an extended essay inspired by the little black book on her nightstand.
She has been through a lot, really horrendous things and I never would have guessed based on her work. I hope she learns who she is rather than allowing men to define her.
I would have enjoyed hearing less about these loser boyfriends (that's genuinely the whole book - one relationship ends and another begins - or overlaps) and more about her and the incredible things she has done, for example she briefly mentions volunteering abroad.
