Wow. Could not put this down. This fictional look at the world of BigLaw was incredible and unsettling at times. Interesting and also heartbreaking to watch Alex’s progression as she got deeper into her work and life at the firm.

I LOVED this book, finished it in one day. I found the world of BigLaw fascinating, liked the characters, and was interested in the plot.

LOVED this book. Erica Katz is an incredible author and really painted the picture well of what it’s like to be a women in Big Law, fighting to get to the top.
The mix of deposition and storytelling made it hard to put this book down because I wanted so badly to know what was coming next!

Two words to describe this one: Toxic glamour. I couldn’t put it down! It gave me major secondhand work anxiety, but I was dazzled by the BigLaw world even though I’d never want to work in it. I know nothing about BigLaw, but I imagine this is a very real account of the sexual harassment & sexism that women in the business face every day. I hope more women like Alex can make a difference.

This book is fact paced and gives the inside scoop into BigLaw, something I had no idea about. This story follows Alex, a first year female associate at one of the biggest law firms in New York City, as she ventures into her first job after law school. She gets the inside scoop of how demanding and competitive her job, while learning what areas of law she does and does not want to focus on. This book is broken up into 5 parts and is so hard to put down!
