Contrairement aux deux précédents de la série, je reproche à celui-ci d'être... trop court! Vite lu, vite torché, sans grand intérêt, avec une intrigue et un dénouement un peu trop tordus à mon goût.

My French skills in general being currently worse than rusty, I think it's safe to say half the greatness of the book passed me by. I totally understood what was happening, and when I was able to remember that Julie the wife was a different character than Julius the dog, all that ass sniffing made a lot more sense.
I had big trouble with names, and it took me more chapters than I want to admit before I figured out the character Marie-Colbert was a male. Yeah I know French has the feminine and masculin stuff pretty clear in the grammer itself, but the name MARIE threw me right off.
Also, I'm now disturbed and unclear whether or not a certain character had willing sexual relations with her biological brother. But he was also "thought of as an uncle" or "aunt" on account of his homosexuality. All in all, i'm still not sure. The sex happened yes, but who he is in the family circle has left be baffled on account of the sex.
This is a detective story of shorts, and my French friend who is big into police and detective stories gave this to me read. It sure had a lot of plot twists once it all got explained. If I had understood better I might have liked it even more.
