Interesting and sad!!!

My heart goes out to Newt. I really love him. And my heart is broken (I think WICKED or chancellor Paige) could not safe him.

At least he knew that Sonya was his sister and is still alive (it’s kinda sad too tho)

I want to read what’s in his journal and I hope Tommy and the others somehow are able to get and read it.

Newts last thought was about Tommy >>>> 💔😭

It felt as though dashner finally understood his audience was a few years older on this one since the first maze runner. Some light swearing, a bleak storyline, and a deviation from the main character make this one of the more compelling books from the series.
Newt is one of the characters I feel like we all cared about the most, especially since finding out about his biological makeup in regards to the disease. His end felt rather jarring in the series, but luckily dashner explores what happens to poor newt during his descent into madness.
It is one of the strongest books in the series, and I highly recommend if you are a fan.

questionable quality as expected but also somehow reached a new low (used the phrase absolutely zonked)??
as it went on it lost the emotional punch i was expecting, the plot was too loose and didn't make sense, didn't really feel like the character moments were earned...and the last part that would have interacted with the death cure felt brushed over. epilogue left more questions that i didn't want, much like each new book in this series honestly.
knew what i was getting into, hoped my favorite character would make it better but alas :/
