The narration was good but I didn't enjoy the story.

As I was reading this book I thought it would be my favorite from Colleen Hoover. I could barely put the book down.
Spoiler I was disappointed with the ending. I thought that it undid a lot of the suspense that was built up throughout the book. I wish that the letter confirmed that Verity was a complete psychopath, and that her death was a benefit to the world. Or that jeremy somehow had written the manuscript and Lowen had found this letter warning her to stay away from jeremy somehow.

Holy mother forking shirtballs. This book was A LOT. I saw a lot of hype around Colleen Hoover and wasn’t sure what to make of it. Now that I read this book I get it. This book had me hooked and counting down the minutes until I could read it again each time I put it down. When I sat down to read every time I was transported to a Vermont home on a lake with a hospital bed and a sense of dread. The dual perspectives of Verity’s autobiography and Lowen’s perspective were amazing. Despite being absolutely repulsed with Verity’s autobiography I couldn’t get enough of the gory, horrid details. I got upset with Lowen when she didn’t read enough but skipped pages because I wanted to know what she was reading too.  The extended edition with the bonus chapter was worth it!

It’s a really good read but i rated it 4 stars because i had such high expectations since everyone’s saying how this book has a huge plot twist and how it makes them feel nauseous when reading and stuff. Didn’t really feel nauseous OR that surprised at the end, i expected it.
