She never fails. My favourite author since 1987.

Not much seems to happen in this novel, but also everything happens.

Made it part way through chapter 3 ... but not feeling this. DNF. The narrator sounds older, making all the characters sound older, making what they are saying sound unnatural. And nothing much was happening, and it was just odd and wasn't keeping my interest. The first chapter is set in 2010. Serena is the MC. Chapter two starts back in the 1950s, featuring Serena's grandparents, and parent/siblings when they were younger. I'm not really sure where it went from there, as I didn't feel like forcing myself to finish.

Going with audio, I couldn't make notes on the things that were rubbing me the wrong way. I think one thing was sortof explained ... the characters "own narration", a little theme that was repeated several times even in my small sampling. It was weird.

I wasn't liking the characters or the story so ... I stopped.
