I finished this book cackling like an idiot.

Character A: I was a good person! I did this and that, and it worked out okay in the end.
[after figuring out that they did not do everything good, and it backfired in their face and that everyone is fucked and there is no way to stop it]
Character B: OH MY GOD. I am free to choose my own path!
Character A: Um.
Character B: I CAN CHOOSE MY OWN DESTINY!
Character A: ...
Character B: I CHOOSE YOU BECAUSE YOU LET ME BE ME!

So naturally, I am picking up book two because I gotta see how this gets worse.
