Please seek out diverse reviews.
I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of short stories, especially the title story. I also really liked the story with the baby. I wanted both of them to be longer books of their own to hash out more details. I was hooked. Overall, a really great collection. I was transported for all the stories!

My issue with this book is entirely my fault. I did not read the description carefully, and thought this was a like magical realism situation with some rewriting of history to correct things. Like a lightly time travel but still political story.

It is obviously not that.

So the book did not live up to my completely unreasonable expectations for it because my expectations were fabricated on nothing. Had I not misguided myself into a false idea of what this book would be, I probably would have loved it.

That being said I loved the artist story, and how the different short stories complemented each other so well. And the last story, the name of the of book, was phenomenal. So phenomenal I hate it. So real but fictional. And I want everyone to read.
