Reading this to my nephew really made my heart smile. To be able to see his excitement about a book that I have passed down to him is something worth smiling about.

Alexander, Who's Not (Do You Hear Me? I Mean It!) Going to Move was hilarious and heart warming when it comes to my childhood. Even though these books are meant for children, I feel like it gives you insight on how moving away from your community to another place can make it difficult for children. Children grow up with what they are surrounded in their environment and has a firm trust that whatever happens, I will always have my family, friends, and my house. Then when parents need to move because of job relocation, or divorce, or whatever reason, that disrupt the balance of things and especially for Alexander it gives the negative aspect that he is leaving everything that loves and adores to move far away.

I really enjoyed this book and recommend it for children who want a simple laugh or wants to relate to someone who is going through the same ordeals.

Another great Alexander book. The message doesn't hit home as much with everyone but it still is quite amusing.

Not as good as the other two Alexander stories, but still funny.

Oh, Alexander...I know how you feel. When I had to move from Central Mid High to Norman North High School, I hated giving up my room. My windows. My file cabinets. I threatened to stay and keep teaching ninth and tenth grade...from a mid high.

But, like Alexander, I sucked it up and I moved. And moving was good. Hard. But good.

This was a nice addition to the Alexander series. It opens up young readers to the idea that sometimes we don't want to do something, but when we do, we find out it's not nearly as bad as we thought; it might even be good!

I have loved Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day ever since I was a small child, and I have meant to read the other two Alexander books for a very long time, but could never seem to locate a copy. Well, I finally did. I'm not sorry I did; it's still Alexander, who's still being cutely grumpy. I didn't love it as much as Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day, but it was humorous, and actually perhaps teaches more lessons than Day, about friendship and memories and change and adjustment and family and related things. I think that this would be a good book for a child who is facing a family move, especially a dramatic/ long distance one. It's fun to read, but could also spur conversation on the topic. Definitely worth sharing with kids in your life.
