Nalini Singh's Psy/Changeling series just keeps getting better with each book. She is building such a vivid world that you just can't help to cheer for its continuation. I'm really loving this current arc of stories about the Arrow Squad. They've been so Silent for so long, that they are this unique mix of deadly cynicism and innocent emotion. I love seeing them learn feelings and trust again. Shards of Hope was just that, hope for a better future for the Arrows in particular. But it was also hope for a better future for all three races (Psy, Changeling and Human). In this book, we see the seeds planted for a true shared leadership of all three races working together (the United Earth Federation) with the first step being the Trinity Accord, a new cooperation agreement.
The heroine of this book, Zaira, was awesome! She was so fierce in her love and loyalty, that it was gratifying to see her learn to trust herself with those feelings. And Aden was the perfect match for her. He was with her every step of the way on her journey to happiness. It was refreshing to see a hero that was totally open and vulnerable the whole book, just waiting patiently for his love to get to a place where she could be happy as his mate.
I can't wait until the next book!

I’m at that point in the series where I love seeing all the characters interact, so I enjoyed the slightly more ensemble feel of this book. The story was pretty action packed (and I think readers who want the focus to stay on the romance between the main couple might be disappointed), but I thought the external plot added so much to both Aden and Zaira’s character development.
I loved seeing Aden come into his own as a true leader of the Arrows, and Zaira being equal parts “I’m damaged and will hurt you if I get too close” and “but who takes care of you??” And their commitment to finding a new way of life for the Arrows, especially the Arrow kids 🥹. That really tugged at the heartstrings.
The found family vibes were really strong in this book, and that always stabs me in the feels.

Loved the romance and over all plot. Simply buzzing to read the final book in this arc of the series.

Ahora nuestra pareja principal:

I liked this book more than the previous book in the series, however I still don't think it was one of the best. It was more exciting and there was more happening, and for me, was a lot less frustrating. I couldn't wait to read more when I put it down and that's always a good sign, but I still think some of the other books in the series are better. It might be that I enjoy reading about a pack more than the psy (sorry!) which is why I prefer changeling orientated books. Still a great read and one that I will definitely read again :)

This book had SO MUCH!!! So many things were happening, so many characters and changeling packs were introduced and explored further, a big enemy is introduced, new alliances and politics are being brought in. This book definitely feels like the end of “season one” and the start of the new storyline that is explored in the trinity series. The society in this world is really being ushered into a new era and this book shows that so well.
The society that Nalini created is so amazing. Through the Psy Net Beacon excerpts that we get throughout the novel, we get to see how society is reacting and adjusting to the societal changes that are occurring and the push back that people have to those changes, as well as the moment that they begin to accept and absorb those changes.
I know some people dislike Psy x Psy relationships but they’re some of my favorite. I personally think that the Psy are the most interesting race so I had a ton of fun with this one.
“You are written indelibly on my soul, Zaira. Nothing will ever alter what you are to me.”
I LOVE Aden! He’s definitely one of my favorite male leads in the series. The way he respects Zaira and prioritizes her comfort and boundaries is everything. He is such a good leader to the Arrows. Seeing his true power was such a cool scene. I love how he let himself be underestimated and then had a huge reveal. I also just love the concept of his power - being a “mirror” and able to pull from other’s powers is such an interesting idea and it really shows how much trust the Arrows have. He was described as wearing a “ankle length leather coat” several times though and personally I’m choosing to ignore that
