Kind of a slow start, but it picked up into a compelling story of love and loss and the human experience.

When I say this book is absolutely perfect I mean it (it may be my new favorite book…TBD). Every page engages your heart, is filled with unexpected turns of phrase, and plunges you deep into the wonderful characters that makeup Alice Island. A quick yet substantive read about the power of connection, literature, and love. An absolute delight to read each time I picked it up.

Zevin’s style continues to be my favorite - I adore her clever and honest characters and their nuanced takes on life. I couldn’t love this book or author more.

P.S. I cried and that’s pretty rare for me to do with books!
