If I never met you by Mhairi is one of my favourite books - one that I devoured in a couple of days. This was marketed exactly the same way which meant that I spent all 410 pages patiently waiting for a romantic steam fest that never arrived. This is, unfortunately, not a romance book.

Mhairi McFarlane writes gripping books with heart, about finding yourself again. Cannot wait to read more.

I did not know what to expect. This book was funny, happy, heartbreaking, devastating, and then empowering. I really enjoyed this more than I expected.

I think it would have been better had there been less focus on the side characters. they kind of took away from the central story line

I feel like this book is more like a woman’s fiction than romance.

It was a good book with romance out of the equation. What made it NOT good was that it was marketed as romance (and romance being the main genre instead of a sub genre, at that), yet the romance was BARELY there.

SpoilerGeorgina and Lucas barely interacted during present time, and you want me to believe their romance was believable? After 12 YEARS of not being in each other’s lives? And add to that, they only dated for… what… a month, 12 years ago? Yeah no. It only made him irredeemable to me even more because here’s the guy who REFUSES to interact with Georgina until like a week before that kiss happened because he thinks she’s a cheating slut, only for him to come crawling back after he finds out that she was SA’d? I’m sorry but his whole speech at her place didn’t CUT it.
