a ship of nightmares and a scary island. ‘apeshit’ killer apes and a leader who is impressively intelligent.
this book wasn’t that bad, definitely a fast paced book I could easily get through with a clear structure and even a plot twist. it didn’t really blow my mind but I don’t think it was supposed to.
some of the writing and war/gun jargon was a bit confusing but it didn’t really ruin my experience, I just had no idea what any of it meant.
it was gruesome yet somehow lighthearted and easy. fun.

This short novel is the next small instalment in the Shane Schofield series. Scarecrow and his team head to a remote island for a training exercise gone wrong. This time the question isn't WHO is the opponent, but WHAT is the opponent?

Like previous Shane Schofield novels, this one delivers on the action and the fast paced nature from Matthew Reilly. Although there are twists and turns, the length of the novel constricts the plot from extending beyond the island. A good read but not as good as the full length books he has previously written.

Fantastical and unrealistic, but I do enjoy the Scarecrow stories
