I truly enjoyed this book!!! I’m not typically a huge fan of romance books but I absolutely fell in love with this book and the main characters!!! I could not put this book down and felt so happy while reading it! Now I really want to go and travel the UK 🤣. I could not recommend this book enough!!

2.3*s. This book seemed very campy and amateurish. It might have been internally justified if we pretended that it's written by the almost-falling-English main character, except when we are given excerpts of her direct storytelling in the book, the style is very different, so that theory is out.

I had a hard time believing the declared ages and personalities of the characters. The main character behaves like she is about 9, which is half of her declared age!
We are asked to pretend that she can pick up literary clues despite not liking to read, yet she managed to live to the age of 18, having read those books and watched those movies, and still not know the difference between England and UK?!
The book is full of such incongruities.

When I finished the book my main impression was that it had the derogatory aspects of fanfiction: formulaic, wish-fulfilly, simplistic, reliant on other sources to give it credibility and depth, stylistically and psychologically immature, unrealistic in premise and its execution, full of character and story inconsistencies.

Yet, it kept me entertained enough to finish the book, for which I am tempted to round up despite all the faults.
