Okay, I will be honest parts of this book were pretty boring. After I got through Mr. Collins talking maybe about halfway the story started to pick up. I loved reading Lizzy and Mr. Darcy reading each other to filth was hilarious. Also, her mom and the youngest 2 sisters were the worst and so annoying.

Back in 1813, women were to strive to be one thing: a wife. Elizabeth is entering into society and learning what love means among her pride and the prejudices we all hold against each other. Mr. Darcy seems to be an unagreeable man who keeps revolving around her.
He could be exactly as he seems- or he could be nothing like Wickham has portrayed him to be. And perhaps Elizabeth herself isn't quite who she thought she was.
So, this isn't my usual type of book, but I did really enjoy it. I love how Elizabeth held to her beliefs and let no man think less of her for them. She was proud, sure, but pride isn't always a bad thing.

“Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us.”

I will have to postpone my review, for I shall fail to accurately deliver the praise Austen deserves.

Simply put - It's a romance novel. Elizabeth Bennett and her 4 sisters go seeking a husband. The story is set in the English country during the time of the American Battle of New Orleans. All polite dancing and young girls crushes. I'm just happy I didn't live in the olden days.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a sick week must be in want of a comfort read of the highest efficacy. Good stories are literally a medicine.
