My three year old loves this book. When she was younger, she enjoyed the pictures and we made-up the story. Now she knows it word for word. Some of the verbiage feels awkward to me, but she eats it up and that's what matters. It's a perfect length for a bedtime story for her at this age.

Just because you won the rights to Curious George and can legally write stories that superficially look like the originals, does not mean you SHOULD.
