Omgosh!

So the first book in this series was decent. This follow-up? HOLY. CHRIST! Not just hotter and steamier, but the action and plot blew the initial book out of the water! Really glad I decided to continue the series, because I don't see how the third book tops this one. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how that one plays out, though!

I would not exactly say the hitmen, danger, and evil CEOs is my idea of a fairy tale. Still, I do think the author did a great job in holding the romance in her story. As this book doesn't meet my fairy tale expectations. It was a great exciting read with the danger and mystery involved. If you love a bad boy and a whole ton of action, you don't want to miss this story. I also loved that the characters from the first book were included in this story. I even enjoyed the trouble from the first book expanded on to keep the reader guessing. She weaved and expanded her story perfectly, even though this was focused on different main characters. I do like that, although not everything is tied up at the end of the story. You still get a happy ending—lots of steamy scenes and a little bit of mystery about what book 3 will contain.
I still thought the author really brought her vision to life, interweaving danger and unexpected surprises along the way. I really didn't enjoy this book as much I thought I would, but it was a great middle story to the series. I kinda wished the relationship didn't progress as quickly as it did, but at the same time, I did enjoy the romantic and hot scenes.

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? No
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated

Compared to Mia's book, this one was a letdown. It really didn't make sense as to was Izzy was a target. She literally did one thing. There were a ton of other people who could have been targeted. I'm already over the creepy villain plot. Also, there wasn't much development with Gabe. I got tons of background and history about Izzy from the last book and this one. Gabe felt two dimensional with just tragedy thrown in here and there. I don't believe the love story between them, and I just don't believe in them as a couple.

It started off well. It had so much potential.
But, the then the story progressed to an unrealistic turn. Whatever. The entire conflict resolution and main turning point was just crap.

Bring on these fairy tales and their amazing narrations! Lauren Landish's second book in the the Dirty Fairy Tales series is nothing short of amazing. Heat, suspense, grief, love and closure all wrapped up in this tale. Gabriel is a hired assassin, the best at his job, but his moral compass keeps him from carrying out his current mission. Isabella is a student and a waitress, and when she becomes the target, all bets are off. Gabriel finds himself falling for the girl, but who wouldn't? She is smart, beautiful and heats him up like no other. But if he doesn't complete the job, what will Mr. Blackwell, the man who hired him do? Ruthless til the end, we find out exactly what Blackwell is made of, and how Gabriel handles it.This fast paced, steamy fairy tale kept me on the edge til the very end with it's thrilling action and passion filled scenes. I love the characters, the setting, the suspense, it was all a great listen!

This narration team is bringing it all to life, like a movie! Carly Robins gives Isabella the spunk that she has, an independent streak like no other and a heady passion whenever she is around Gabriel. The growlie Lance Greenfield's alpha voice brings Gabriel to the front, forcing that masculine protectiveness right through your ears. And Tor Thom creates an evilness in Blackwell that makes your skin crawl each time he comes into a scene! The perfect villain! It's a trio to keep your ears happy.

What a fantastic story from Lauren. I couldn't put it down I had to know what happened next. This book had suspense and some downright hot af sex scenes and I loved these 2 characters Gabe and Izzy (Bella). He's been hired to kill her, but what he finds when he is watching her is she's not a bad person so why would somebody want her dead? She's just a struggling part-time waitress/student just trying to make ends meet when a stranger (Gabe) walks into her diner. Will he be able to do what he was hired to do or is there more to her story that what meets the eye?

I'd definitely would recommend one clicking this story anything this lady writes is golden.

This is my opinion and my review

I AM SO CONFUSED AS TO WHY THIS GIRL WAS THE TARGET. LIKE WTF.

Not So Prince Charming was a weird ass book. It gave me interesting characters, Isabella and Gabriel.. but I felt so lost and confused throughout this book. Yeah, there was a creepy villain but we didn't really know much about him or why Isabella was a freaking target in the first place. It was kind of all based about assumption.. so yeah - it was weird.

Then there's Gabriel who is the hitman but falls in love with her vagina. I mean her. Even when she finds out the whole truth.. she is like no, I can't trust you but yet I will go anywhere with you at the same time. AGAIN, it was weird and something was definitely off in this book.

The romance, whenever we got it, was hot and good but I just couldn't fully support anything happening. Maybe if I would've understood things a bit more - then, yeah I'd be all up in that. I might dive into the next book.. but I'll probably have to dip into the first book just to see if ANYTHING makes sense.

A Gloriously Masterful Follow-up!

I. Am. Stunned. Lauren Landish is brilliant. And "Not so Prince Charming" is an absolute magnificent follow-up to "Beauty and the Billionaire", wow, just wow!

This being the second installment in her Dirty Fairy Tales series, Landish begins this book immediately where the first book ended, with the fallout of Blackwell's evil. Focusing on best friend Izzy and her involvement in Thomas and Mia's plan from book one. This book takes you further down the treacherous path of corporate sabotage. And unfolds before you in terrifying detail, what happens when a deranged, narcissistic, sadistic corporate mogul marks an innocent as revenge against a perceived rival.

It is heartwrenchingly horrific! And HOLY HELL does it take you on a ride and give you emotional whiplash!

Where "Beauty and the Billionaire" burned "Not so Prince Charming" smolders. Where the first book catapulted you forward through Thomas and Mia's story at breakneck speed, this installment meanders with Gabe and Izzy at a pace so slow and torturous it lights your mind and heart on fire. Where book one was forcefully possessive and rough, this book is methodically protective taking slow care to plot its course forward through the heartbreak, fear, uncertainty, and danger.

It is delicious in its redemptive darkness.

And Gabe, my lord... With this man Landish is so predatory with her prose that you feel every word he says, every word about his life, every detail about his emotional state in your chest. Like a jackhammer to a slab of concrete, the fallen angel explodes your soul with his singular drive and devotion. And through his eyes your heart will break, your eyes will tear, and your stomach will clench with his pain.

And then you will be taken even further down the emotional gamut toward the final showdown with Blackwell yet to come.

A gloriously masterful follow up!

Wow! Good book!

I really liked Gabe and Bella’s story! Very dynamic story and holy crud the fight with Jericho was crazy intense!! The love between Gabe and Bella is definitely a all consuming love but she doesn’t get trampled over, she is strong and questions everything and make Gabe question his choices as well! He is a better man with her influence. Loved it! Can’t wait to read Charlotte’s story!
