Unfortunately, I didn’t fully understand everything in this book; however, it is a strong memoir that presents a lot of resilience.

Raw, powerful; I enjoyed reading the afterword and understanding more of Mailhot’s writing process. It read quickly, almost urgently - part of my wishes to have tasted the words for longer, but it drew me in and I felt the intensity that the author felt during the moments she was recounting.
