Reread of the entire Bone series. Decided to count it as one full book.

I have literally nothing to say. This story helped inspire my love of fantasy and adventure and it has a special place in my heart.

A good friend was horrified to learn that I had never read Bone and promptly bought this for me to read. I was pleased to find that she had not misled me. Bone is one of the most enthralling and heartwarming comics that I have read in a while.

Fone Bone, and his cousins Phoney and Smiley, are run out of their hometown and end up in a valley populated by pre-industrial humans, dragons, talking animals, and the horrible rat creatures. Bone and his cousins are caught up in a titanic struggle between the forces of good and the forces of the Lord of the Locusts, who is trying to break free of his prison. Along the way Bone meets a delightful cast of characters who you can't help but root for by the end.

Even if you aren't enamored with the graphic novel format, this is a great tale, and it's worth reading. Adventure, fantasy, humour, friendship, and danger a weaved together perfectly. Check it out.

Bone.

It truly does feel like being a child again, watching an old Disney movie while your mind is still freshly wrapped in ideas from new shows you've watched. It talks to you in a way. It's not always perfect, but it knows how to quiet that voice down with subtle brilliance. It knows you, it knows what you want and what you really need. You don't need a deep philosophical plot to feel this much, to rest this much.

It's a small epic, for all kinds of readers. All kinds of ages, all kinds of preferences. I'm happy with Bone.

And I owe Thorn an apology, she was very undeveloped throughout most of the experience, that much is true, but she earned that ending with Bone. Their relationship is special and beautiful, and it's worth investing in it.

Bone is worth investing your time in.

Some fantasy is a distraction, some is derivative, but the greatest fantasy leaves you in wonder and begs a permanent space on your bookshelf to be reread again and again and passed on to your children. Bone has earned that place on my bookshelf. I hauled this tome around on a road trip because I couldn't put it down.

It’s a little dull in the middle, but it’s a good book overall.

I expected more from the end though! I’m left longing for more.

Terrific graphic novel. My six year old son loved it, although I think it would appeal even more to am older child. Then again, I enjoyed it as well.
