As with any high fantasy series, it took 75% of the book to develop the world and all the POVs before any interactions took place between the POVs. I want to read the next book when it comes out in November though. Maybe. Who knows. Thanks booktok.

DNF at 30%. I may come back to this one later. It has really good reviews, I just cannot get into it.

This is beautifully written, featuring some absolutely spectacular imagination, but AH I still I feel I wanted/hoped for more from it! That being said, I still loved it, it had so many strengths, and I very much look forward to the sequel! Phalue and Ranami were GLORIOUS, their story was just so well crafted, so beautiful, so REAL, but it was Jovis and Mephi who stole the show for me, and also my HEART. MAY THE POWER OF THE ANIMAL SIDEKICK NEVER BE UNDERESTIMATED - SO PERFECTLY DONE HERE ❤️❤️❤️

My issues with this book:
- simplistic writing & lack of place description
- world building was lacking
- I didn’t care about most of the characters
- inconsistent magic system
- first person narration threw me off. I personally don’t think it belongs in multi-pov genre writing

Kinda gives YA novel vibes.

This book was phenomenal! Fast paced and engaging and each POV was interesting. I loved how this book starts pretty dark and only gets darker which each twist and turn. I cannot wait to start the next one!
