Victoria's Thoughts

Cassie Stevens is a young woman who is a tomboy.  She has a spunky personality with the ability to get herself into trouble fairly quickly.  Cassie does not expect the new fire captain to take notice of her, because she believes that he is way out of her league.  However, she is anything but correct.

Eric Waters is new to town and also the newest fire captain.  Eric quickly falls for Cassie, enjoying her fun and playful ways.  However he also engages in domestic discipline.  So when Cassie gets out of hand he quickly spanks her.

The connection between Eric and Cassie is intense.  I enjoyed how Eric incorporated rules but in a way that did not comes across as heavy handed or brutish.  He was very clear and concise with is rules.  I loved how Cassie seemed to enjoy the rules and began to need them in the end.

I found this book well written with a unique plot. I enjoyed how the author incorporated domestic discipline and romance. The main characters and the secondary characters were very realistic.  While the ending was a little predictable, however this book is more about the journey to the end than the end itself. I had a hard time putting this book down. Overall, this was a very captivating book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.

DNF. The author tried to setup a relationship for DD, but in the process totally ruined the heroine's character. She came across so TSTL and unlikeable that I had to quit reading even though it was KU.
