I only read 175 pages or so. This really wasn't my cup of tea. Humans were referred to as "mud people" and everything they do is terrible. Lots of references to pollution and chemicals. I don't appreciate political agendas especially in kids books.

A nice quick read. Very distinct and crisp narrative voice. I'm sure the series gets better as it goes along, but I'm not sure I'm hooked enough to go out of my way to find book 2.

I read this book with my student book club and they loved it. In my opinion, Artemis seems like an arrogant little boy that sadly doesn’t have parental guidance. He’s left to his own the devices and this causes him to think he can do anything he wants. He met his match in Holly, the fairy LEP agent. He might have won this first round, but I think he’ll get what he deserves as the series continues.

Wooop, bērnības klasika! Jāuzmeklē tās burtnīcas, kur atkodējām lappušu apakšā rakstītās zīmes :D

Daudzas lietas bija izkritušas no prāta, bet kaut ko aptuveni nojautu pareizi. No sākuma šaubījos, vai turpināšu sēriju lasīt, bet c'mon es šito izrāvu aptuveni 4 stundu laikā un bija mazuma piegarša beigās.

Tikai būs jāturpina angliski, latviešu 2000-to gadu slengs neglaimo.

I read these as a kid and I don't remember a damn thing about them. Which is a shame because this was Amazing. Artemis Fowl is just as horrid and conniving and smart as he should be but I have a huge soft spot for Butler and Holly remains the one thing I remember about the books. It also helped that the audiobook was read by my all time fave Nathanial Parker
