I liked it! I didn't really want it to end, I was enjoying the characters so much. I need to go back and read the first one now though. It's not the sort of book I would have ever picked up, but Rowling is such a masterful creator of worlds. Hard not to love anything she does.

Yay! Another JK Rowling mystery! I do enjoy these books....they are well written and not obvious to solve. The story continues with the same detective--- Comoran Strike and follows him as he helps a wife locate her husband....and then when that husband is found dead, helps find his killer... I enjoy the main character and his secretary Robin. My only complaint is as we know the characters....we do not need to know every page how painful Comoran's prosthetic leg is--- either get it fixed or just don't mention it as much. We know it hurts, we know he is limping...got it.
The story itself was interesting....and Rowling can write. She has proven (duh) she is not a fluke.
Read: if you enjoy mysteries....though I would recommend you read the first in the series first.

Just as excellent and clever as the first novel, Robert Galbraith has done it again. There some great twists and even better character development of both Cormoran Strike and Robin.

The first mystery I ever read was Silence of the Lambs. That book was amazing.

In a lot of ways, The Silkworm reminds me of that. I think it was the topics discussed and the tone. But you know, I love books where the the plot has to do with a book or writers.

I liked that Robin and Strike seemed more fleshed out, as did some of the scenes and incidents.

But you know what makes this book feel hollow? The supporting characters are just non-existant. Nobody really transfers over from book to book except Matthew - WHO I HATE. Matthew is awful and the fact that Robin is letting him walk over her is sad.

I loved the last two chapters of the book and right now I'm reading Book 3. If Robin and Strike don't seem to get their groove on and realize that they have feelings I will be a sad camper.

Took me a while to read but I loved it! I preferred the first book to this one just because it took longer to pick up the pace but it was good nonetheless.
Something I do think requires improvement, though, is Robin - I feel like she's a bit empty in personality, very submissive. I hope this changes in the next book.
