I've always wondered what kind of people start writing with criminals after they have been accused for murder. The author was one of those who wrote, and she interviewed others, and with all that she created this novel and the 16 year old girl, Veronica, who is the main character.

Veronica starts writing with a man accused of three murders and she visits the trials. She seems to be frustrated with life and a little lost. I think she finds comfort in having a penpal who can't see her, and who doesn't know she has acne. The books tells the story of what her life is like during those couple of months she also writes the letters.

A little interesting, but I'm taken by my frustration I feel for her. But hey, I was making bad and weird decisions when I was a teenager too.
