This book was a surprise to me. A surprise that I found a review in People magazine that intrigued me enough to buy this book. A surprise that I read this book in one sitting, because the characters came to life for me. A surprise that my life feels so similar and the realization that I need to communicate more with those I love. A surprise that I loved this book.

Ended up loving this. The structure, style and characters. And the plot twist at the end. Couldn't put it down.

At 54%, I did not give one flying monkey fart what happens to this family, or this Wife 22. Omg she was annoying. The husband was devoid of any emotion or personality. The daughter was a typical moody teenager. The only person I even liked was Peter AKA Pedro, but he wasn’t in it all that much.

Bleh! Do yourself a favor and don’t waste any time reading this one.

My 22nd audio book in the car of the year, finished on July 22. (Not planned.)

References to movies I like.

Fun and light, but not so silly as to be annoying.

Except! The annoying thing of everyone referring to Alice as a "maid of honor" in Nedra's wedding. Since she's married, she would be a "matron of honor."

Listening length 12 hr

I have a few problems with the premise behind this book...but if I just take it for face value, I really enjoyed it. It forced me to think about how I interact with my husband and how our relationship has changed in just the few years since our wedding. I found this book to be very "quoteable" and I think I would like to read it again now that I know "the twist". I do, however, wish that the questions in the survey are given within the text and not in an appendix in the back...I had trouble following along without the questions but found it cumbersome to flip back and forth.

I could see the ending coming a mile away, but still an enjoyable book that I somehow managed to read in an afternoon.
