Maybe I am being generous with the 4 stars but The Tower of Swallows is maybe the best of the Saga so far. Maybe because of Ciri's character development... I am here for Ciri gaining her independence and owning it. There is a bit more development in Yennefer's character as well. This I liked because she is obviously important but very little time has been spent on her thus far. Two more books left so I am curious to see what my final verdict is.

Despite how confusing the jumping around of the narration could be, I did quite enjoy the varying viewpoints used. It was interesting to be able to read all the different characters’ perspectives. There are a lot of cliffhangers and enough intrigue to make me want to keep reading all the way to the end of the story/series.

One of the things I love about this series is the different perspectives that Sapkowski chooses to tell the story from. In this book there are several different perspectives which almost makes the book read as a collection of interwoven short stories. It's very clever and engaging but I did find it disorienting the first time.
It's also the most gruesome novel in the series

Fractured narrative from multiple perspectives (eg kenna to coroner). It helpfully disorients the reader and grasp at what they can to follow the present action.

I’m so fucking disappointed. And mad. This book is one huge filler (and not even a good one) with a million new characters being introduced every chapter. Everyone is constantly talking about dumb unimportant shit and the whole book contains only 3 chapters worth of reading. What a joke.

P.S.
SpoilerVysogota DIES from a HEART ATTACK???? Fuck off.
