Stacey’s parents are the literal worst.

Really loved how this book dove further into diabetes and it did a really good job at explaining it in a way that kids would understand.
Loved the conflict in this book
I think Stacey did a really great job at advocating for herself

For some reason, I remembered this as being way more focused on Type 1 Diabetes than it actually is. Yes, there is some good information in here, and as a T1D, my younger self could absolutely relate to Stacey... But I felt like it didn't really go into it as much as it could have.

That's what I want, you hear me authors (any of you) a well written book with a MAIN character who is Type 1. There are very very few books like that, and the characters usually are terrible whiny babies, or the disease it only used when it is convenient. Also, in my experience, saltine crackers are not worse or better than candy, as far as how good it is for a T1D to eat...

ANYWAY

It was a fun book, and it brought back a lot of memories from my childhood, so it gets bonus points for that.
