This book was a quick read. It was okay. The story/plot line was a mix of Mean Girls, the Heathers, and some other teen witch occult book/movie. It started out interesting, with a beginning plot twist of the dead cat. You are hooked because you want to know who did it. You actually have several options. The author had successfully executed hooking the reader and for the reader to not know answers till the end....but then the language and violence between the teen girls was not believable any more. It became silly and excessive. The main character seemed to be so helpless. It was annoying because she was supposed to be this demon/devil/pure evil....and ended up being kind of lame. Like after all the mean girls died...she suddenly remembered, 'oh yeah, I like killing people and I lust after the taste of blood.' The end was built up and then fell short in wrapping up the story. It seemed forced.

If you know anything about my reading preferences, I hate paranormal explanations for the things that happen in books. That’s why this is getting 3 stars. I honestly would’ve have just love it if it was the horror version of Mean Girls, which is exactly what it was giving until the end/point of “explanation”

I picked this book up at a thrift store because I was intrigued by the vibrant pink cover.

Now that I've read it, I can say that the cover is the most interesting part.

As many others have said, it's basically an occult mean girls. Classed as horror, but not overly scary. Most of the "horror" was just gross. And the end, though a decent set up for a second book, wasn't as shocking or impactful as it could have been. Again, it was more gross than anything.

The only reason I'm not giving it one star is for Charlie's character, the only normal person in the whole book.

The way it ended automatically made the entire book feel like a prologue.

All the characters were unlikeable. They all got what they deserved.
