The story resolves several different problems brought to the attention of Ulf Varg and his colleagues. I loved the distinct personalities of the characters, and the glimpses into how each of them viewed others, while mostly the story sticks to Ulf's perspective. I appreciated the difference of reading a story set in Malmö, Sweden. I look forward to reading more in the series!

Not for me. The plot was boring and the only personality the detectives had was 'I don't understand political correctness'.

Quite odd - not at all what I expected.

The book is not so much about the cases as it is about the team that is set on solving them.

I expected the cases to be bordering on the supernatural or the bizarre, but it is not that way at all.

McCall Smith has a way of taking the ordinary and looking at it from an interesting angle. Some of it was even laugh-out-loud funny to me, and will enjoy looking into others in the series.
