This was fun! I like how non-one dimensional the characters were (especially our girl Cameron). I liked how not everything went wrong in her business world, and her realizations thereafter. I liked the huge twist family-wise — it really changes your perspective on matters. And of course, you have to love Brendan too. I only wish that Cameron and Elle reconciled a bit more. It's clear Cameron didn't put the same effort on that front as she did to win back her "love," and that's a darn shame.

I was slow to get into this but then yesterday I read the last 150+ pages. I am glad that I saw this through to the end because it was such a good story, the Rocky Horror show part was my favourite

Woahhhhhh. I was not expecting to absolutely LOVE this!

Prep school senior, Cameron Bright, takes inspiration from her English class reading assignment of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew to try and change herself for the one boy she actually wants.
She kind of has a reputation for being brutally honest in the not-so-nice way. So, in order to make a good impression on her crush, she attempts to “tame” herself.

Whenever I read the premise, I was intrigued. I expected a funny, entertaining, and maybe cheesy YA contemporary.

This is a lot more.

Cameron’s family life is actually horrifying and just straight up depressing.

She has plenty of reasons to be the way she is, that she doesn’t even notice, because Cameron Bright is a lot of things, but a self-pitier she is NOT.

This is much more than a YA romance. It’s a book about knowing when to say sorry and knowing how to forgive - including yourself.

Also, loved the writing style. Cameron’s narrative is so in your face. She felt so real. I love me a sassy female lead, and this author duo did not disappoint. Sassy to the max. (;

Surprisingly insightful and mature. A masterclass on mean-but-good characters.

I really liked this novel! It was very sweet and the characters were surprisingly well developed. I actually enjoy having "mean girls" as main characters these days haha!

So, after watching Sex Education season3, I was in desperate need to read a HEA story that was similar to Otis and Ruby. AND THIS BOOK DELIERVERED. I love the popular girl & nerdy boy trope. It was witty, cute, and absolutely charming. I love character development and unusual friendships. This was * chef kiss*!

Also, I love Cameron! Such strong character with flaws and depth and so interesting.
One of the best YA I’ve read!
